Megan has been dancing at Waves Dance Studio since the age of eight and purchased the studio in late 2017. During her years as a student, Megan completed multiple examinations in Jazz, Tap, and Ballet under the Australian Teachers of Dancing Syllabus and competed at eisteddfods. During her senior years at high school, Megan studied Dance at school for her HSC and received a Band 5, majoring in dance appreciation and the theory and history of dance. After graduating, Megan completed her Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management and Intermediate Tap Exam. In 2020, Megan is completing her Diploma of Dance Teaching and Management & Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, allowing Megan to teach dance qualifications in the studio.

Megan's passions include the involvement of anatomy and physiology within dance and incorporates this knowledge into her classes to ensure her students are fully aware of how their body is moving and performing both in and out of class. Megan thrives on seeing all students progress, both as dancers and valued members of the wider community and looks forward to expanding the studio.


Sandy Edgerton

Dance Teacher

Dancing since she was 7 years of age and with over 25 years of choreographic experience, Sandy has a strong passion for dance. She has previously managed her own successful dance studio for 10 years, instructed numerous items at four government schools, and four dance studios in the local area. She has completed her ATOD Ltd Advanced Jazz Moves, a certificate as a dancer, and "Member” Teaching Diploma with ATOD Ltd as an instructor. Sandy is constantly improving her dance knowledge, having recently completed her Intermediate Tap certificate (ATOD), and Novice level (level 1) coach for the International Cheer Union. "I love to stay current and fresh, to give students the newest styles and techniques". This year she would like the students to gain skills, confidence and a positive attitude that can be applied in their everyday lives.


Abigail Watson

Dance Teacher

AAC1 (Acrobatic Arts)

Born and raised in Manchester, England, Abi has been dancing since she was 5 years old.  Following the IDTA and RAD syllabi Abi took regular exams in tap, ballet and modern jazz, gaining distinction in her RAD intermediate ballet exam. At 16 she gained a place at Phil Winstons TheatreWorks, a professional dance college in Blackpool England. Here Abi trained full time for 3 years, performing in the college production twice a year and continuing to expand her knowledge in various styles of dance. Whilst at college she also studied and undertook her first level teaching exams in ballet, tap and modern jazz. Over the 3 years Abi continued her teaching qualifications in modern jazz graduating with 3 certificates as well as an anatomy and physiology diploma. 

After completing her professional training Abi gained her first professional contract performing  in a show in Casablanca, Morocco. Following this she toured Bulgaria as part of the Balkanski circus.

Having lived in Australia since 2016 Abi is so excited to pass on her knowledge of dance to the students at Waves and looks forward to helping inspire and nurture the next generation of dancers!


Bianca Wilson

Dance Teacher

Certificate IV in Dance Teaching & Management

Bianca established her passion for dancing at the age of 4 and has loved dancing ever since. She studied and completed her exams under ATOD Ltd scoring honours and above in Jazz, Ballet and Tap. She has completed her ATOD Advanced Jazz exam and in 2009 won the Australian Teachers of Dancing State Tap scholarship competition and the Australasian Jazz scholarship competition. She has been teaching dance for 8 years and in 2018 completed a year of full time dance at Village Nation Performing Arts in Sydney where she acquired her cert IV in Dance Teaching and Management. Last year she also passed her Associate Teachers exam with ATOD. Bianca loves to choreograph and is passionate about building students confidence and creativity through dance. She believes dancing teaches students discipline and perseverance, key skills they will use both in and out of the studio.


Megan MacMahon

Dance Teacher

Dancing since she was a young girl, Megan has always had an interest in performance, acting and movement. After graduating highschool with an Individual Drama Monologue at State Level, and a Group Performance at State Level (top 5% in NSW), she went on to study Bachelor of Arts in Applied Theatre. Being amongst Brisbane's most talented and amazing performers, educators and artists her passion for performance grew immensely. During her time here she gained phenomenal connections and experiences within the art industry, working in and within productions around the city. She was a lead female role in the University production of Antigone and co-directed many small short plays. 

Later Megan was gifted a position in Brisbane schools teaching primary aged students a Drama program through Bazil Grumble. 

She went on to run her own dance school for 5 years  and is now continuing on her 12 year teaching journey to give others the gift of confidence through drama and performance based classes.  

Megan hopes that she can build confidence in her students and allow them to express who they are in a safe, super fun and encouraging environment. "Every child is a sunflower, you must nurture them to see them bloom"


Sophie Stewart

Dance Teacher

Sophie started dancing in 2009 with Just Dance Woodburn at the age of 4. Two years later in 2011, she joined the Waves Dance Studio family. During her past dance years, Sophie completed multiple exams in Jazz and Ballet as well as competing in local Eisteddfods. Sophie is still a student dancing with Waves enjoying Jazz, Ballet, Modern and Hip Hop. This is Sophie’s second year as a teacher and she continues to learn and pass her skills down to all students she teaches. Sophie’s love of dance continues to grow each week as does her passion, confidence, and experience. Sophie loves to see all students enjoying classes, taking on challenges each week while mastering new skills and making life long dance friends.



Meghan Chapman


The performing arts have played a key role throughout Meghan’s educational and professional endeavors. The native Texan first fell in love with the arts when she joined children’s choir at the age of four. She spent her childhood studying music and piano, which quickly sparked her interest in more performing arts, including drama and dance. She discovered her passion for theatre and vocal performance in high school and carried those interests with her to the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a B.A. in Theatre Arts and a minor in French and Francophone Studies.  Her favorite memories from university include directing and arranging music for Dischord A Cappella, as well as performing in the Theatre Arts Department’s productions of The Heidi Chronicles (Heidi), Late: A Cowboy Song (Red), and All’s Well That Ends Well (Countess).
